Want to feel graceful in a cartwheel? Tips to get stronger to do handstands? Feeling stuck on a skill? Time to take it back to basics. I am here to give simple and fun exercises that will give you the confidence to master your skills. I will lead you through coordination exercises that will work on overall strength, dynamism, and mobility. Then we’ll go over foundational techniques and step by step variations of movements (such as Rollie pollies, cartwheels, inversions, headstands, bridges, walk overs, kip ups,).For improver and more advanced folks who want to evolve their movement quality, we dive into new acrobatic vocabulary by meshing dynamic and flowy moves to create fluid acrobatic sequences. This requires some experience in cartwheels, walk overs and handstands. It is adaptable to different levels and is low impact friendly.Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, this class aims to use your acrobatic capabilities to explore new variations of movement to create new quirky vocabulary that makes for unique and exciting sequences. We are super excited to be hosting the incredible Ben Kaufman to deliver two specialised (but welcoming to all) workshops in handstands and single hula hoop. Sunday 30th March Handstands 4.30-6.30pmHula Hoop 7-9pmBoth workshops are open to all levels and experience. Introduction to handstands Is a handstand something you’ve always been curious about, without knowing where to start? Have you tried going upside down and feel like you’re getting nowhere? Let’s figure out how to get balanced! This workshop is for people who are interested in or familiar with going upside down, be it in handstands or headstands. We will explore ways to orient your position upside down and how to play and explore. We’ll talk about how to get your body ready for inversions and tools for progressing yourself along. Come try it out!Do more with your hoops This workshop is for anyone looking for a host of things to do with a single hula hoop. We will be playing with kicks, throws, manipulations, isolations and flourishes and their many variations, along with how they can be sequenced together. There will be opportunities for skill sharing and collaboration throughout the workshop. Moray Flying Circus are delighted to announce we have received funding from the tsiMoray Moray Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund to support our project Circus Connects, in partnership with Findhorn Bay Arts. Circus Connects will involve running programmes of circus activities in Buckie, Forres, and Keith for 16 - 25 year olds, promoting physical and mental wellbeing through the joy of circus. Circus benefits confidence and self esteem, creativity and social skills, reducing anxiety and stress. With Circus Connects we want to provide these opportunities by taking circus to under-served communities and harder to reach young adults, that would not normally have such opportunities. We are offering a 5-week programme of free activities, as well as a community open day in each location, and we also have a designated pot of money to support participants to continue engaging in our long-term classes; supporting the legacy of the project.Buckie workshops will take place on Wednesdays 5.30-7pm at Buckie Townhouse main hall: 19th March, 26th March, 23rd April, 30th April and 7th May.Forres workshops will take place in May/June, and Keith workshops in September/October.Email info@morayflyingcircus.org for more info and to get booked on!@findhornbayarts @tsi_moray #circus #freeworkshops #circusskills #whatsonmoray
