As of May 2024, we are so excited to announce that Moray Flying Circus is now officially a charity! (Registered charity number SC053314.)
Up until now we have been run by three self-employed individuals – Ruaraidh Milne, Rachael Macintyre, and Emma Robbie – since 2019. Together we have run classes two days a week, an annual holiday camp, and one or two showcase performances a year all at Dyke District & Village Hall. We’ve also offered workshops in circus skills and aerial, as well as fire and aerial performances and stilt walking at various events and festivals across Moray and Scotland.
As the years have passed we have seen so much potential for circus to reach people of all ages and abilities, benefitting mental and physical health through creativity, skill learning and development, play, group work and self-confidence building, and it has excited us to see what the future could look like for Moray Flying Circus. As a charity we have the opportunity to access more funding and grant opportunities, allowing us to make what we offer even more accessible.
